Price, Governor Girls Stop Mitchell

PIERRE – Mitchell played persistently, but their turnovers and the Governors’ good offense made the difference.

Remington Price scored 25 points Friday as Pierre Governor Girls Basketball defeated Mitchell 64-48 at the Riggs High Gym.

Price hit four three-pointers and shot 9-of-14 from the floor as she became the Governors’ fourth all-time leading scorer in girls basketball with 1,051 points.

Reese Terwilliger added 13 points for Pierre (15-3). Ayvrie Kaiser scored eight points with seven rebounds.

Allison Meyerink led Mitchell (8-10) with 17 points. Addie Siemsen scored 12 points on four three-pointers. Sawyer Stoebner scored 10 with 12 rebounds.

The Governors shot 53% from the floor and forced 27 Kernel turnovers.
